Hello everyone,
Passwords alone are no longer enough to secure online accounts. Data breaches, password reuse, and phishing attacks make it easier than ever for attackers to obtain credentials.
This is where
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) comes in.
MFA requires at least two forms of verification, such as:
- Something you know (password)
- Something you have (phone or authenticator app)
- Something you are (fingerprint or face recognition)
Even if a password is compromised, MFA can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
Common MFA methods include:
- Authenticator apps
- Hardware security keys
- Push notifications
- SMS codes (less secure, but better than nothing)
For best security, authenticator apps or hardware security keys are generally preferred over SMS-based verification.
Enabling MFA is one of the easiest and most effective ways to improve account security.
