CAIDO: The new BurpSuite

Hi everyone,
I wanted to start a conversation about a tool that’s gaining traction in the pentesting and bug bounty community: Caido. I’ve been testing it out, and I think it’s worth taking a closer look together, especially as an alternative or complement to Burp Suite.

What is Caido
Caido is a web security testing platform that includes an intercepting proxy, repeater, traffic visualization, and automation workflows.
It’s built in Rust for the backend and TypeScript for the frontend, making it faster and lighter.
It aims to stand out through its simplicity and smooth performance compared to Burp.
It’s under active development and has already released important updates, such as version 0.47.0, which introduced new features.

Key advantages I’ve noticed

Modern, intuitive interface with a smaller learning curve.

Better speed and performance thanks to its modern architecture.

Visual workflows that simplify automation without coding.

Great for bug bounty hunters or testers who don’t need the full weight of Burp Pro.

Limitations or things to consider

While it has many features, it’s not yet at Burp Suite Pro’s level in terms of automation, active scanning, and plugin ecosystem.

Smaller extension community.

For large-scale audits or complex integrations, Burp is still more robust.

My personal use case
For bug bounty and mid-size audits, Caido has worked well for me: it intercepts traffic, modifies requests, and handles multiple projects easily.
However, for large corporate audits or CI/CD pipeline integrations, I still rely on Burp Suite as my main tool.

Damm I just had a 5 minute rant Sheww. Just fed up with the corruption of political power!
